In Berlin-Weißensee, the condominiums on Roelckestraße are now ready for occupancy. A secluded, green oasis in the popular residential neighborhood of Pankow. Named after the landscape architect Hermann Roelcke (1832–1896), the “Roelcke 111” complex inherits not only his name but also his vision: Thus, the neighborhood center is transformed into an open, green space whose gardens flow seamlessly into the courtyard, creating a spacious place for friends, family, and neighbors to gather and interact—a “village-in-the-city” feeling, but larger, more expansive, and full of vitality.
A playground for children has been set up in the western part of the neighborhood courtyard. Four buildings are grouped around these gathering places in the center: an apartment building that separates the interior of the neighborhood from the street, as well as two urban villas that stand out as monolithic islands within the green space. Another building is divided into three townhouses. All the houses are also connected underground: an underground parking garage with 41 spaces extends beneath the entire neighborhood. The design by Stephan Höhne Architekten impresses with its high-quality craftsmanship, floor-to-ceiling windows, and light-colored clinker brick.
