Shaping Responsibility – Thinking Ahead to the Future: wvm Group at the polis Convention 2026

The future doesn’t just happen on its own—it is shaped. For the wvm Group, this means taking responsibility: for livable cities, for sustainable neighborhoods, and for the people who live there. This very commitment is at the heart of our presence at the polis Convention 2026. On May 6 and 7, leading players in urban development will gather in Düsseldorf to discuss the future of urban spaces under the theme “New Horizons”—and we’ll be right in the thick of it. The wvm Group is part of a strong network in the Cologne region. Together with Kreissparkasse Köln, KSK-Immobilien, KSK-Real Estate Management, Metrolog, and Mull und Partner, we will be represented at the joint booth A04.4 —under the umbrella of the Cologne/Bonn region. What unites us is a shared conviction: urban development does not end at property lines. It means taking responsibility—for the region, for its economic future, and for the quality of life of its people. For us, it’s about more than just buildings: We create living spaces that work in the long term—ecologically, socially, and economically. Housing plays a central role in this. Because housing is far more than just a roof over one’s head. It is the foundation for stability, community, and quality of life. That is why we develop projects with the clear goal of creating sustainable and livable neighborhoods that meet the demands of today and tomorrow. Through our work, we contribute to securing the region’s economic strength while simultaneously creating livable spaces. In doing so, we think beyond property lines—and always with the people who shape our neighborhoods in mind. For us, the polis Convention 2026 is not just a stage, but above all a place for dialogue. Exchange with partners, municipalities, and industry colleagues is crucial for gaining new perspectives and developing solutions together. Visit us at Booth A04.4 and join the conversation—for example, at our program events: We look forward to inspiring encounters, new ideas, and working together to shape the future of the city.

wvm Group Berlin Celebrates Topping-Out Ceremony for 321 Apartments in Berlin-Karlshorst

Berlin, April 16, 2026 – Yesterday afternoon, the topping-out ceremony was held for the Zwieseler Hof residential project in Berlin’s Karlshorst district. The project by the wvm Group Berlin comprises 321 apartments. The 147 condominiums in the first construction phase are expected to be ready for occupancy by the end of the year after a construction period of just 20 months. Completion of the 174 rental apartments is scheduled for mid-2027. Christian Gaebler, Senator for Urban Development, Construction, and Housing, views the project as an important contribution to expanding Berlin’s housing supply and highlighted in particular the 108 rent-controlled apartments being built on Zwieseler Straße. He noted that Zwieseler Hof represents a new mixed-use neighborhood and thanked everyone involved for their dedication. Martin Schaefer, Mayor of Berlin-Lichtenberg, added: “Lichtenberg has been a leader in new housing construction for several years. The district, its population, the associated infrastructure, and quality of life are growing continuously. This is by no means a given and once again underscores the excellent cooperation demonstrated by the district, its administration, and the project developers active in Lichtenberg.” “The Zwieseler Hof is being realized according to the Berlin model of cooperative building land development. This also required extensive coordination processes with the district,” reported David Fischer, Managing Director of the wvm Group Berlin. “As a result of this constructive collaboration, a former industrial area is being transformed into an attractive and sustainable neighborhood that, as a standard energy-efficient building (EH) 55 EE standard, featuring apartments ranging from 30 to 119 square meters, a green courtyard, 30 percent subsidized rental housing, two playgrounds, 800 bicycle parking spaces, and 120 car parking spaces in an underground garage. I would like to thank everyone involved for their contribution to this exceptionally beautiful and important project.” “The alternating four- and five-story buildings follow a uniform façade design but form distinct addresses with thoughtfully designed building entrances,” architect Tobias Nöfer describes the plan. Between the five-story buildings with photovoltaic-equipped hipped roofs, green roof gardens for rainwater retention are situated above the four-story buildings. “The courtyard, where most of the building entrances are located, will be planted with large trees.” Dr. Clemens Paschke, Managing Director of the wvm Group Berlin, thanked the Lichtenberg district for the excellent cooperation: “During the complex approval process, we received comprehensive support from the staff as well as from City Councilor for Construction Camilla Schuler. They thereby laid the foundation for successful construction here and now.” Paschke extended his thanks to everyone involved in the project, specifically architect Tobias Nöfer for the design of the neighborhood, the company GOLDBECK, which, as the general contractor, is overseeing the project’s implementation using a serial construction method, and the construction workers who continued working on the project even in winter under difficult weather conditions. In his speech, Robert Wall, Managing Director of GOLDBECK Nordost GmbH, praised his GOLDBECK team and their achievements, as well as the courage of those involved in building under the current market conditions. He highlighted the potential of modular construction. GOLDBECK is currently building around 2,500 apartments in Berlin. Jan-Hendrik Goldbeck, Co-CEO of the GOLDBECK Group, says: “What we are building here in Karlshorst clearly demonstrates the direction housing construction must take: fast, intelligent, and combining good design with cost-effectiveness. Together with wvm and Tobias Nöfer, we are demonstrating how efficiently systematized construction and high architectural standards go hand in hand. If we want more housing in Germany, then we need exactly these kinds of projects: pragmatic in process, ambitious in outcome, and clearly focused on speed and efficiency.”

wvm Group Celebrates Groundbreaking Ceremony and Kicks Off Construction of 120 New Rental Apartments in Cologne-Merheim

Cologne, March 20, 2026. On March 19, 2026, the wvm Group hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on Ostmerheimer Straße in Cologne-Merheim, officially marking the start of construction on 120 modern rental apartments. Around 50 guests from the worlds of politics, government, the housing industry, and the local community accepted the invitation to celebrate the start of this significant housing project together. Among those attending the ceremony was Claudia Greven-Thürmer, District Mayor of Kalk. A particularly memorable moment was her speech, in which she emphasized the project’s significance for the neighborhood with the following words: “As a resident of Merheim, I have witnessed firsthand the neighborhood’s transformation from a commercial area into an attractive, family-friendly residential district. I am very pleased that, with the laying of the cornerstone, the final stone for the Merheimer Gärten is now being set.” The new development will create four apartment buildings with a total of 120 rental units on a site spanning approximately 5,300 square meters. The plans include one- to four-bedroom apartments with living areas ranging from approximately 37 to 91 square meters. All apartments feature balconies, terraces, or rooftop terraces. The development is complemented by 63 underground parking spaces. The buildings will be constructed to current energy efficiency standards and supplied with district heating. Erika Werres, Managing Director of the wvm Group, opened the event with the following words: “With today’s groundbreaking ceremony, we are sending a clear signal regarding the creation of urgently needed housing in Cologne. As a Cologne-based company, it goes without saying that we take responsibility for sustainable neighborhood development. We are creating a home for many people, and that makes me proud.” The construction work is being carried out by GOLDBECK—a partner known for progressive and customized construction methods with high architectural standards. Axel Wirges, Branch Manager for Cologne-Bonn at GOLDBECK West GmbH, explained:
“With this project, we are working together with the wvm Group to create high-quality yet affordable housing for Cologne. Our systematic construction approach allows us to optimally combine quality, sustainability, and rapid implementation—an important contribution to the future of urban living.” Upon completion, all 120 apartments will be added to VIVAWEST’s portfolio. Sandra Wehrmann, Chair of the Management Board at VIVAWEST, emphasized the project’s significance for Cologne’s housing market: “VIVAWEST manages around 4,900 apartments in Cologne, where demand significantly outstrips supply. With this new neighborhood, we are working with our project partners to ease the strain on the tight rental market and expand our local portfolio with a great project. We have already worked successfully with the wvm Group in Cologne over the past few years—which is why I am confident that our future tenants will feel right at home in their new residences.” Completion of the new residential neighborhood is scheduled for late 2027 or early 2028.

Why Continuity Works

The wvm Group builds apartments. It has been doing so for over thirty years.
In Cologne, the company is one of the leading players in residential construction; in Berlin, it has been a continuous presence in the market for more than ten years. While many project developers come and go, the wvm Group has remained. And grown. In an industry that likes to define itself through reinvention, the company focuses on something else: continuity.

Women’s Carnival, Commitment, and Community – wvm Group Supports the Lost Sisters

Carnival in Cologne means more than just costumes and music—it stands for community, joy, and living tradition. The wvm Group has actively embraced this spirit again this year, demonstrating that taking responsibility for the urban community is just as important as creating housing.
At the Lost Sisters’ Weiberfastnacht party, our founder and managing partner, Wolfgang von Moers, presented a donation check in the amount of 50,000 euros. With this support, the wvm Group strengthens the association’s work and contributes directly to charitable projects in the city.
The day was filled with energy, warm encounters, and genuine joy—a moment that made the team spirit and connection to the city palpable. It became clear that the wvm Group not only develops projects but also actively takes on responsibility and fosters community.
With this donation, the wvm Group is sending a clear signal of social commitment, social cohesion, and a strong Cologne where tradition and responsibility go hand in hand.

wvm Group Berlin reports positive results for 2025 and plans to complete around 300 apartments in 2026

Berlin, February 11, 2026 – The wvm Group Berlin can look back on a successful 2025 financial year: a total of 112 residential units were completed in 2025 and most of them have already been handed over to their new owners and tenants. A further 815 apartments are currently in the planning and construction phase. Construction activity focused in particular on residential projects in the Berlin metropolitan area, with a balanced mix of 641 owner-occupied and 174 rental apartments. This brought the total project volume to around €360 million. "2025 was a good year for the wvm Group Berlin. Despite the challenges in the market environment, we were able to make targeted investments and advance the construction of our residential projects according to plan," says Dr. Clemens Paschke, Managing Director of WvM Berlin Immobilien + Projektentwicklung GmbH. "In a market with a shortage of new apartments, this is a result we are proud of. Our strategy will remain unchanged in 2026. We are focusing on the development and construction of residential properties in Berlin and the surrounding area." In order to generate time and efficiency advantages and achieve consistently higher construction quality, the wvm Group Berlin is increasingly relying on construction with industrially prefabricated parts. "This enables us to achieve shorter construction times and advantages in project financing," says David Fischer, Managing Director of WvM Berlin Immobilien + Projektentwicklung GmbH. "In addition, prefabrication in the factory also allows us to build with higher energy efficiency. Our buyers thus benefit from attractive promotional loans and, as capital investors, they benefit from the possibility of higher depreciation." With this in mind, the wvm Group Berlin will work together with its parent company in Cologne on product optimization in 2026. "We are focusing on the development of subsidy-optimized residential projects and will therefore integrate internal subsidy checkpoints with energy consulting and review of the respective cost ceilings in the early project phases," says Dr. Clemens Paschke. "In this way, we want to meet the requirements of the best possible standards in each case." The wvm Group Berlin plans to complete four new construction projects with a total of around 300 rental and owner-occupied apartments in 2026. These include the residential complexes at Liebermannstraße 70 with a total of 48 units, Berkenbrücker Steig 18–19 with 44 residential units, Roelckestraße 111 with 60 apartments, and the first construction phase of the Zwieseler Hof in Berlin-Karlshorst with 147 apartments. "We expect to receive several building permits for the project pipeline in the first few months of the new year, including projects with a total volume of over 230 owner-occupied and rental apartments, which are designed for both investors and owner-occupiers," says David Fischer. "In addition, construction of a new project in Potsdam is scheduled to start in late summer 2026. We are also planning to purchase four further projects in Berlin and the surrounding area." The wvm Group Berlin is satisfied with its sales results. In 2025, the company sold a total of 140 apartments in Berlin, thus achieving its sales targets. "We expect demand to remain subdued," says Dr. Clemens Paschke. "This is because the fundamental economic conditions will not change in the coming months. In particular, interest rates and banks' capital requirements are likely to remain at the recently noticeably higher level. This limits the circle of buyers. We will therefore build even more strongly with target groups in mind and convince with suitable and affordable products," says David Fischer.

wvm Group Berlin celebrates topping-out ceremony for 48 condominiums on Liebermannstraße in Berlin-Weißensee

Berlin, February 3, 2026 – Last Friday, the topping-out ceremony took place for the residential project at Liebermannstraße 70 in Berlin's Weißensee district. Completion of the 48-unit condominium project by the wvm Group Berlin is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026 after a 22-month construction period. The building, with its striking curves, was designed by the renowned Berlin architectural firm Stephan Höhne. "Liebermannstraße 70 is a good example of aesthetically sophisticated residential construction in Berlin," says Clemens Paschke, managing director of the wvm Group Berlin. "The building is being constructed at a time of diverse challenges, when wvm is one of the few companies still building apartments in Berlin and when it has also become difficult for potential buyers to find a suitable apartment." The wvm Group Berlin offers a diverse mix of one- to four-room apartments at Liebermannstraße 70, including three-room apartments starting at €483,000. Twenty of the 48 apartments have already been sold. Residents can expect a new building that meets the KfW-40-EE (renewable energies) standard with attractive depreciation options and favorable KfW subsidies, as well as an in-house PV system and heat pumps. Triple-glazed windows and comprehensive soundproofing measures ensure quiet living. The shell is being constructed by GOLDBECK as the general contractor using serial construction methods. David Fischer, Managing Director of the wvm Group Berlin, and Sebastian Bethge, Branch Manager of GOLDBECK Nordost GmbH, praised the collaboration, which is to be continued in further projects. The wvm Group Berlin's development portfolio currently comprises around 600 apartments. Dirk Stettner, chairman of the CDU faction in the Berlin House of Representatives and directly elected representative from Weißensee, welcomed the project. "Berlin needs new buildings. Berliners need affordable and energy-optimized living space. Weißensee is both a center and a charming neighborhood. And we need entrepreneurs who do just that—who don't just identify needs and lament deficits, but take action. Here, prefabricated properties that meet the KfW 40 EE standard are being created for many owner-occupiers. This will ease the strain on the tight rental market and create security for local families. With this in mind, I am delighted that Liebermannstraße will not only provide a new home for many people, but also another opportunity for home ownership." wvm Group Berlin celebrates topping-out ceremony for 44 condominiums on Berkenbrücker Steig in Berlin-Lichtenberg

Berlin, January 26, 2026 – Last Friday, the topping-out ceremony took place at the Berkenbrücker Steig 18-19 residential project. After 22 months of construction, the 44-apartment project by the wvm Group Berlin is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2026. Residents can look forward to a new building that meets the KfW 40 Plus standard, offering attractive depreciation options as well as heat pumps and photovoltaic systems for an economical and environmentally sustainable energy supply. Thanks to the direct electricity model, residents can use the solar power generated directly. They are also independent of district heating and gas supplies. At Berkenbrücker Steig, the wvm Group Berlin offers a diverse mix of one- to five-room apartments, including three-room apartments starting at €500,000. The purchase is commission-free. "Currently, 19 apartments have been sold. The new owners include many owner-occupiers from the surrounding districts of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, Pankow, and Lichtenberg, as well as investors, meaning that some apartments will also be available on the rental market," says Dr. Clemens Paschke, Managing Director of the wvm Group Berlin. The mobility concept at Berkenbrücker Steig is also sustainable. Twenty-five underground parking spaces are already equipped for e-mobility. In addition, there are 113 bicycle parking spaces, supplemented by six covered parking spaces for cargo bikes and bicycles, as well as storage areas for strollers. The shell was constructed using serial construction methods with GOLDBECK as the general contractor. David Fischer, Managing Director of the wvm Group Berlin, and Sebastian Bethge, Branch Manager of GOLDBECK Nordost GmbH, praised the collaboration. In his speech, Prof. Martin Pätzold (CDU/directly elected representative) emphasized the special challenges and qualities in his constituency, which is one of the fastest-growing districts in Berlin. "We need more housing construction in Berlin. This is the only way we can remedy the shortage. The Sportforum and the local recreation area at Obersee and Orankesee lakes offer numerous opportunities for leisure activities. However, the social and transport infrastructure must grow along with it, especially here in Alt-Hohenschönhausen. We also need more doctors and the expansion of public transport." That is why he is campaigning for more frequent tram services, for example. The wvm Group Cologne acquires land in Sülz – New residential project planned on Rhöndorfer Straße

Cologne, January 22, 2026. The wvm Group is creating new living space at Rhöndorfer Straße 4 in Cologne-Sülz. The company plans to develop a modern residential project with a total of 100 privately financed residential units on the approximately 3,720 square meter site. Completion is scheduled for the end of 2029. The plans include 1- to 5-room apartments, all of which will have their own outdoor seating area. Around 55 percent of the units will be 1- and 2-room apartments, which could be attractive to investors. The proximity to the university and excellent local amenities will create a residential offering that responds in particular to the high demand for smaller apartments in urban locations. The building complex comprises five floors, including a penthouse floor. All full floors facing the street will have a high-quality clinker brick facade. The underground car park will have 53 parking spaces, all of which will be equipped with charging points, making the project fully e-mobility-ready. Sustainable energy and open space concept The energy supply concept focuses on resource conservation, sustainability, and efficiency. Heat and hot water are supplied by low-noise, highly efficient brine-water heat pumps. These are supplied with heat and electricity from modern PVT modules (photovoltaics and solar thermal energy) on the roof. The wvm Group is planning a high energy standard in accordance with the current requirements of the Building Energy Act (GEG) and is examining various subsidy and certification models, taking into account ecological, economic, and sociocultural aspects. The currently fully sealed property will be comprehensively upgraded ecologically as part of the development: Around nine new trees are planned, as well as various shrubs and meadows, green roofs, and the unsealing of approximately 20 percent of the area, which will be landscaped as green space in the future. The protected private courtyard with a playground for small children creates additional quality of life for the residents. Project developer relies on familiar location "We feel at home on Rhöndorfer Straße," says Erika Werres, managing director of the wvm Group. "We have already completed several successful residential projects in the immediate vicinity. With this new project, we are building on this experience and creating more urgently needed living space in an attractive location in Cologne."
